Meet our team of doctors.

Care at Sphosh Health goes beyond therapy and medications. It's led by Dr. Koichi Tanji, one of the few clinicians who measures and treats the biology of mental health, alongside a dual-trained team integrating psychotherapy, medicine, nutrition, and hands-on healing.

Naturopathic Physician ยท Licensed Mental Health Counselor ยท Assistant Professor ยท Certified Sports Nutritionist ยท Founder, Sphosh Health

Dr. Koichi Tanji is one of the most distinctive voices in holistic psychiatry, a rare Japanese clinician dual-licensed as a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who addresses mental health through both physiological and psychological pathways. He is known for helping people that conventional therapy or medication could not, by uncovering the root causes others overlook. He is also a Fellow of the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs (FMAPS) and a Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN), bringing a systems-based, performance-informed perspective to mental health care.

Dr. Tanji treats anxiety, depressive and mood disorders, trauma-related and stress-related syndromes, insomnia, burnout and adjustment disorders, as well as complex neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental presentations such as ASD, ADHD, PANS/PANDAS, cognitive decline, chronic fatigue, mold-related illness and screen addiction. His approach emphasizes identifying underlying contributors, metabolic health, inflammation, immune dysregulation, gut-brain signaling, sleep physiology, hormonal balance and nutritional status.
