When something isn’t right, but it has no name
Many people come to us without a clear diagnosis. They say they feel flat, foggy, tired, on edge or just “not like myself.” Their routine tests may have come back normal, and they have been told it is stress. Feeling off is a valid reason to seek care. It is often the earliest sign of a shift in mood, sleep, hormones or physical health, and catching it early makes it easier to fix.
What “feeling off” often turns out to be
- Early depression or anxiety that has not yet become severe
- Burnout after a long period of pressure
- Chronic sleep problems or undiagnosed sleep apnea
- Low iron, vitamin B12, folate or vitamin D
- Thyroid changes; see thyroid and mental health
- Hormonal transitions such as postpartum or perimenopause
- Undiagnosed ADHD, especially in adults under rising demands
- Lingering effects after an illness
- Gut problems; see gut-brain and digestive health
- Side effects of medications or alcohol
How we approach it
Instead of treating one symptom at a time, we take a step back and look at the whole picture. Our Biopsych Assessment covers your history, current symptoms, sleep, diet, stress, relationships, medications and goals, with targeted labs where they would add information. From there we build one plan that addresses the most likely drivers first, and we track how you feel over time.

Our providers are licensed naturopathic physicians and mental health counselors led by Dr. Koichi Tanji, ND, LMHC. In Washington, controlled substances such as ADHD stimulants and benzodiazepines are outside naturopathic prescribing scope, so when one is part of the right plan we coordinate with your prescribing physician or nurse practitioner.
