Many neurodivergent adults have spent years being told, directly or indirectly, that the problem is them. Affirming care starts from a different premise: that autistic and ADHD brains are valid ways of being, and that the goal is not to erase how you are wired but to reduce the friction and distress that come from living in a world built for someone else.
At Sphosh Health, care for neurodivergent adults is whole-person and unhurried. Some people arrive already diagnosed; others are recognizing traits later in life, the exhaustion of masking, sensory overwhelm, executive-function struggles, or anxiety and depression that never fully lifted with standard treatment. Because Dr. Koichi Tanji is both a naturopathic doctor and a licensed mental health counselor, a visit can address the layers that often travel together: attention and executive function, sleep, nutrition and gut-brain health, anxiety, burnout, and the physical toll of long-term stress.
Practically, that can mean thoughtfully considered medication for ADHD when it helps, strategies and accommodations that fit your actual life rather than generic advice, support for co-occurring anxiety or depression, and attention to the body-level factors that shape focus and mood. We move at a pace that respects sensory and processing needs, put things in writing when that helps, and never treat your traits as something to be ashamed of.
It is worth being clear about scope: formal, comprehensive autism or ADHD diagnostic testing is a specialized evaluation, and if that is what you need we will say so and help point you in the right direction rather than overstate what we offer. What we do well is affirming, integrative ongoing care and support.
