Life on the Kitsap Peninsula runs on ferry schedules, bridge traffic and the rhythms of the Navy. Many residents work at Naval Base Kitsap or the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, others commute to Seattle by boat, and families often juggle long workdays with limited local options for integrative psychiatric care.
Our clinic is at 2135 112th Ave NE, Suite 201, Bellevue, and every service is also available through secure telehealth anywhere in Washington. Many patients do most visits by video and come in only when an in-person appointment is genuinely useful.
Reaching Bellevue from Kitsap usually means a ferry crossing plus I-90, or the drive around through the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, typically an hour and a half or more. That is why nearly all of our Kitsap patients see us by secure video and visit the clinic only if they want to.
A whole-person, root-cause approach
Most people who reach us from the Kitsap Peninsula have already tried something: a few months of therapy, a prescription that took the edge off, a stack of supplements from the internet. What usually hasn’t happened is anyone stepping back to look at the whole picture at once. Holistic psychiatry does exactly that. We look at mood, anxiety, focus and sleep alongside the things that drive them underneath: sleep quality, nutrition, stress physiology, hormones, inflammation, gut health, medications and life circumstances.
Care usually begins with our Biopsych Assessment, a structured intake that brings your history, symptoms and any relevant labs into a single plan. From there, psychotherapy, lifestyle and nutritional strategies, and medication management where appropriate are coordinated by one team rather than split across several offices. Care is led by Dr. Koichi Tanji, ND, LMHC.
Communities we serve on the Kitsap Peninsula
Silverdale and Naval Base Kitsap
Silverdale is the commercial center of central Kitsap and sits next to Naval Base Kitsap–Bangor. Service members, civilian Navy employees and their families deal with long shifts, deployments and frequent moves, and telehealth makes it easier to keep care steady through all of it.
Poulsbo
Poulsbo, known for its Scandinavian heritage and Liberty Bay waterfront, is a short drive from Silverdale on SR 3 and from the Kingston and Bainbridge ferries on SR 305. Most Poulsbo patients see us by video.
Port Orchard
Port Orchard sits across Sinclair Inlet from Bremerton, with the Southworth ferry to West Seattle nearby and SR 16 running south to Tacoma. Patients here often split their week between local work and the shipyard, and evening video visits help.
Bainbridge Island
Bainbridge Island is a roughly 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle. Many islanders commute by boat, and while an in-person visit in Bellevue is very doable, video visits save a long round trip.
Bremerton
Bremerton is home to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and a ferry terminal with service to downtown Seattle. We have a dedicated page for holistic psychiatry in Bremerton with more local detail.
